Compassion is one of the most common characteristics of children. They don’t even need to be taught how to be kind. When they see something or someone that needs help, they try to think of something that they can do. So when this group of six kids met a hungry and weak dog, they immediately called someone for help.
They tried calling several rescue organizations, but they had a difficult time contacting them. Then luckily, they found someone who was more than willing to rush over. They stayed with the dog to make sure that help finds it. They also kept an eye on the dog so that when rescuers arrive, they could show them where the dog was staying. In the meantime, they gave the dog something to eat and drink.
Better days ahead
The dog was busy eating when rescuers came. They discovered that t wasn’t an aggressive dog, so they didn’t have any fear that it would run away or bite them. Even when the rescuers came close, the dog just sat still. But when they put a leash around the dog, it suddenly became agitated. It jumped, tried to run, and wiggled aggressively. It also cried in fear, confused at what just happened. But, mere minutes later, the dog calmed down.
The rescuers made sure that the dog trusted them before leaving. They stayed around a bit, just letting the dog know that he was in good hands. They first took the dog, which they named Nobu, to a hospital. There they spent hours manually removing ticks from his fur. He was also given a bath and some grooming. After a thorough checkup, the dog was cleared to go.
Rescuers brought to Nobu to a foster home. There he will stay for a while, learning how it is to belong to a loving family. Once he is ready, he will be put up for adoption. Hopefully, he finds a great forever home.
